Я умер. Вернее, погиб на войне.
На самой последней из войн –
Так верить хотелось – и верилось мне,
Пока еще был я живой.
А дальше все будет синей и светлей –
Как небо и детские сны...
Синее, чем были у мамы моей
Глаза до начала войны.

Я брал эту синь и носил на себе
В бою, как берут талисман.
Цвет маминых глаз и весенних небес –
Защитой от смерти и ран,
От черного дыма и копоти зла –
Я верил, что нас не убьют.
И синь, как могла, берегла, берегла...
До самых последних минут.

А дальше все будет светлей и синей –
Ручаюсь своей головой.
Не зря же я умер на этой войне...
На самой последней из войн.
